Lúcio Gregori is one of the most significant references when the subject is Fare-Free. A renowned researcher in the area of urban mobility, he has written several articles on the subject and became known for trying to implement the first Fare-Free public transport system in the city of São Paulo during the administration of Mayor Luiza Erundina (1989-1992). In this interview, Lúcio talks about how the discussion on the subject has changed over the last decades, about the universalization of public transport policies, and argues that the Fare-Free is a concrete proposal.
